( available at the Pearl Repository http://apt.pearllinux.net/pool/main/m/motion-day-night-switch/ )
( other distros may extract .deb file as root then except the DEBIAN folder copy all folders to your Linux systems root / )

Windows Users may use the HTML pages under /var/www/html however scripts will not work.


HELP Getting Started

As of version 1.6.4 the default viewer shown is the 1up viewer
with the IP address set to
the address http://localhost:8081/0/stream and
for web-based administration go to http://localhost:8080

To enable the 2,3 or 4 up viewers you must edit the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications as root user
enable desktop file disable viewer
To enable a viewer notice line 11 set to false
To disable a viewer notice line 11 set to true



Pearl's recommended way to start motion

Make sure your username is in the motion group

1) from terminal type
                       sudo systemctl enable motion

2) from terminal type
           systemctl start motion

3) from terminal type
sudo motion &

    4) finally  from terminal
hit enter

If you started motion (see motion documents)
and see this check the box like above and click ok.

If using your local cam motion.conf reflects your viewers html
An option to edit this html is in the actions screen. Seed below.

Select ok after choosing an option.

Choosing Edit Viewer previous pic will open nano. Change your
IP:port# to reflect what is in your /etc/motion/motion.conf stream port variable.
If you are just monitoring other machines on network use their local IP address
and we recommend to increment port # by one for each extra cam you monitor.
such as default stream port on the motion.conf file is always port 8081
If you have 2 cams one address would be http://YourComputerIP:8081
the other one would be http://YourOtherNetworkIP:8082.

After editing if its required you will see your cam.



Newly Added Local Camera Settings GUI Option

This will open guvcview webcam software. You may adjust your cam with viewer
at this point. You will need to enter sudo password a few times but Motion will then
be automatically restarted and you may open your viewer.
